Dire Straits : Sultan Of Swing

Dire Straits : Sultan Of Swing
"To be in dire straits" signifie se trouver dans la dèche.

You get a shiver in the dark
It's raining in the park but meantime
South of the river you stop and you hold everything
A band is blowing Dixie double four time
You feel alright when you hear that music ring

You step inside but you don't see too many faces
Coming in out of the rain to hear the jazz go down
Too much competitions too many other places
But not too many horns can make that sound
Way on downsouth way on downsouth London town

You check out Guitar George he knows all the chords
Mind he's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing
And an old guitar is all he can afford
When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene
He's got a daytime job he's doing alright
He can play honky tonk just like anything
Saving it up for Friday night
With the Sultans with the Sultans of Swing

And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
They don't give a damn about any trumpet playing band
It ain't what they call rock and roll
And the Sultans played Creole

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
'Thank you goodnight now it's time to go home'
And he makes it fast with one more thing
'We are the Sultans of Swing'

Led Zeppelin : Stairway To Heaven

Led Zeppelin : Stairway To Heaven

There's a Lady who's sure all that glitters is gold.
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are all closed,
With a word she can get what she came for.

There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure.
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree, by the brook, there's a songbird who sings.
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.

And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune,
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long.
And the forests will echo with laughter.

It makes me wonder...

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May-Queen.
Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run,
There's still time to change the road you're on.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know.
The piper's calling you to join him.
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know,
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

And as we wind on down the road,
Our shadows taller than our soul,
There walks a lady we all know,
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard,
The tune will come to you at last,
When all are one and one is all,
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

The Beach Boys : I Get Around

The Beach Boys : I Get Around
The Beach Boys est un groupe pop-rock américain. Mon morceau préferé est "I Get Around"

Paroles de la chanson I Get Around

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
I'm a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
I'm makin' real good bread

I'm gettin' bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta find a new place where the kids are hip

My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
I'm a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
I'm makin' real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Get around round round oooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo

We always take my car cause it's never been beat
And we've never missed yet with the girls we meet

None of the guys go steady cause it wouldn't be right
To leave their best girl home now on Saturday night

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
I'm a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
I'm makin' real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
Get around round round I get around
Wah wa ooo
Get around round round I get around
Oooo ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
